Akriti studied fashion design in the fashion capital of the world – at Istituto Marangoni, Milan. With Leonessa - meaning Lioness in Italian, she has envisioned a brand that combines the personality and quirks of her sun sign – Leo, with the strength and confidence of a Lioness.
With Leonessa, she aims to bring contemporary and fresh fashion from the world to Indian women. With a strong focus on quality and design, Leonessa is for women who know what they want.
Our Inspiration
Leonessa was born as a response to the discrimination faced by “petite” women with smaller frames when it comes to fashion and clothing choices. We believe that all women should have access to high quality clothing, irrespective of their size.
It was this very discrimination that sparked the idea for an accessible, fresh, and homegrown clothing brand in the mind of our founder & lead designer – Akriti. In a world that is more connected than ever before, the idea that there is an “ideal” size for women is obsolete and should be rejected.
At Leonessa, we are reimagining fashion for women, drawing inspiration from the latest trends and making “petite” and “standard” lengths, the core of our brand.
